Our vision is that parents of children with complex needs in Scotland can get Independent Advocacy, support and clear information as early as possible.
We will achieve this by:
- Offering specialist Independent Advocacy for parent carers of children with complex needs
- Sharing practical, easy-to-understand information for parent carers and families.
- Helping parents access independent counselling (we do not provide counselling ourselves).
- Speaking up for better services for families of children with complex needs.
- Making sure our staff are well trained and supported to do their jobs.
Our guiding principles

Independent, person‑led advocacy
We work for each family, not for any other service or professionals. We help families understand all their options so they can choose what feels right for them. We stand up for their views and wishes, not our own, so their voice is heard until they feel ready to speak for themselves. -
Inclusion
We welcome everybody and make sure they are not left out because of who they are, what they believe, or the support they need. -
Commitment to human rights
We stand up for the rights of children and families. We are brave and willing to challenge people and systems even when it is difficult. -

We treat everybody with kindness, patience and understanding at all times -

We keep learning and improving so families receive the best support we can give. We also work hard to be a fair, caring and supportive employer for our staff.
Central to our ethos and commitment to families is the promotion and protection of every child’s rights, as set out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). To ensure we embed these values in all that we do, every member of our team has completed the Scottish Government’s Child Rights and Wellbeing Impact Assessment (CRWIA) training. This collective commitment ensures that our advocacy and support are always aligned with the highest standards of child rights and wellbeing.
