There are many different sources of financial support available to children with disabilities and their families.  Perhaps most important is Child Disability Payment, which has replaced  Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for Children (under 16's)  in Scotland. a lot of other funding is dependent on this benefit.

Another important route to resources is an assessment by social work (known as a Section 23).

Many families miss out on benefits because the application processes are complex and time consuming.  For this reason, it may be beneficial to start with the support of a voluntary organisation.  Please contact our Community Team on 0800 031 5793, option 1 then 1 , or for further information.
