Information and Advocacy Worker, Fife
I qualified as a primary teacher and then taught for seven years within special education. I joined the Kindred team with a particular emphasis on community and education support.
When my daughter was born prematurely in 2024, I navigated the parental hospital stay and I can empathise with how it feels to be a parent with your baby in hospital.
My background in special education provides a holistic approach to my work at Kindred. I recognise that health, wellbeing, and education often require a connected pathway to support. My communication and creative skill set was also developed within the hospice arts-based setting as a summer volunteer. I acknowledge the value of compassionate conversations and listening to others. I appreciate Kindred’s important work for families across Edinburgh and Fife and I am grateful to be part of the team.
