Kindred Golf event

A Charity Texas Scramble Golf event

Last summer, the Kinghorn family held a 24-hour outdoor stationary bike ride in aid of Kindred and another local charity close to their hearts and raised over £1000 for each charity.

This year, Hazel, Simon, and their team of volunteers are going all out with a Charity Day Texas Scramble at West Linton Golf Course on Saturday 26th August 2023.

A family including a boy with complex needs and his baby sister, are smiling at the camera

West Linton locals Hazel and Simon Kinghorn here, in their own words, tell us why they wanted to support Kindred’s work with families of children with complex needs:

Kindred Scotland have been helpful for our close family in supporting Joanne and David and their son Elliot, age 3, seen above with baby sister Maisie. Elliot is a lovely boy who requires 24-hour care with daily medication and receives specialist care from neurologists, physiotherapists, dieticians, opticians and more and he has had many admissions to hospital in his short life. Elliot requires specialised equipment in the home to make life more comfortable for him and his family. Any funds raised will help families like Elliot's to make life that bit easier.
